Harley's top 5 reasons to sign up for the NYC Gaza 5K

The Gaza 5K has grown into one of Brooklyn's coolest charity walk/runs, but it doesn't happen without you! Our very own Harley Dority shares her top 5 reasons why you should register by Monday, February 24:

  1. Avoid the FOMO and save $$! Gaza 5K FOMO is real, and on 3/7 this will be the event everyone in NYC is talking about on social media, so don't be the awkward one who misses it because you thought you'd still have time to sign up. Tickets sell out quickly and you won't be able to register day-of at the park. Secure your spot now and save $15 (no code needed) before early bird rates expire on 2/24, or worse, you lose your chance.

  2. The prizes and the glory! Depending on how well you fundraise, you stand a chance to earn a 2020 Gaza 5K t-shirt, one or both authentic Hirbawi keffiyehs (the black and white classic and the *new* Gaza style scarf), AND an olive tree planted for you in Palestine! Learn more

  3. Running is just part of the fun. This event is more than just a 5K. Come meet neighbors who share your passion, enjoy the scenery, festive food, surprises, and swag. Show off your running (or walking) skills, hear DJ Fatin spin your favorite dabke tunes, and show off your dance moves. You're guaranteed to leave energized by the solidarity generated in our coming together!

  4. The people! We're on track for 2020 to be one of the largest Gaza 5Ks and the people who this event attracts are some of the biggest-hearted people! Come meet some of the United States' most passionate supporters of Palestine, refugees, Gaza, UNRWA, mental health, and running. 🇵🇸

  5. The mission is golden! Your participation in the Gaza 5K directly helps us provide Palestine refugee children in Gaza with the life-changing mental health counseling services they need to cope with the traumas they are forced to endure living in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
