UNRWA USA is bringing our most iconic event back to our home city of Washington DC's Rock Creek Park. This is your chance to provide critical psychosocial support to the millions impacted by the ongoing Israeli military assault on Gaza. This event includes an optional 5K walk/run, fundraising prizes, community, and as much Palestinian culture as we can squeeze into your morning. The Gaza 5K is your chance to meet and connect with folks who share your solidarity and commitment to the mental wellbeing of refugees.

What’s the goal of this year’s Gaza 5K? We aim to raise $500,000 by May 31st, (raceday) to employ UNRWA mental health counselors in Gaza. These counselors provide refugee students with individual and group counseling sessions. The more you raise, the more we can do! Fundraising is the key to our efforts and impact. Check out these fundraising perks to encourage you to be at the top of your fundraising game.
Race day at Rock Creek Park
Date: Saturday, May 31, 2025
Time: 7 am - 11 am
Schedule (subject to minor changes):
7:00 am - Gaza 5K packet and fundraising prize pick-up
7:30 am - Roads Close! Opening ceremony
8:00 am - Race begins! 8:45 am - Awards ceremony for top 3 finishers
9:00 am - Closing ceremony with more awards, followed by dabke dancing!
11:00 am - Event ends
**There is NO onsite registration for this event -- you must register before race day to participate!**
From DC to Palestine, no person should ever have to suffer constant distress. You can improve the quality of life for refugee children in the Gaza Strip by signing up and fundraising for the DC Gaza 5K.

UNRWA food assistance for refugees in Gaza
is by hosting a Gather for Gaza fundraising event (previously, Iftar for Gaza).
These events come in many forms.
You know your guests better than anyone,
so consider a gathering they will enjoy most.
Some past examples include:
a traditional iftar dinner, a vegan potluck,
Memorial Day BBQ, birthday parties,
wine and cheese gatherings.
Whatever you choose, the purpose of your
gathering for Gaza is to connect with your
community to educate them on the humanitarian situation facing Palestine refugees in Gaza and generate funds
for UNRWA's at-risk food assistance program.
