the future of palestine starts here
our university scholarships need your support.
did you know that Palestine refugees have some of the highest literacy rates in the world?
Despite this huge potential, only a fraction of Palestine refugees can afford university, with many living below $3 a day.
Too many brilliant students like Sadeel will graduate high school this year, then find themselves stuck — unable to enroll without the help of a scholarship.
That’s where you come in.
How can I start?
-
1. Sponsor a student of your choice
Provide a full scholarship to an exceptional student living in an area of your choosing.
Here's what your gift can do:*
$500 can fund one semester’s tuition for a gifted Palestine refugee in Syria.
$1,500 can fund one year’s tuition (and a small stipend) for a hardworking refugee in the West Bank.
$3,000 can cover a year’s tuition for a future pharmacist or engineer in Gaza.
$6,000 can fund a full, four-year scholarship to a Palestine refugee student living in Lebanon or Jordan.
As a sponsor, you will be a living part of the student’s academic journey. You’ll get a personal letter from the student, regular updates on their grades, and in some cases, a recent photo.
In turn, we expect you to stay with the students through their education. But if circumstances get in the way, we understand — which is why we have the general fund, to allow us to pick up the pace.
For questions, or to become a sponsor, contact Hani Almadhoun at hani@unrwausa.org or dial (202) 223-3767 to discuss your options further — We’d love to hear from you.
*Scholarship costs depend on the degree, locality, and quality of education. In all cases, the impact these bright students will have on their communities is priceless.

3. Honor someone with a scholarship in their name
Want to do something bigger?
Some donors choose to establish a scholarship in honor of someone great - choosing to keep their memory alive through the legacy of education.
