UNRWA USA National Committee (UNRWA USA) seeks a digital fundraising contractor who cares about Palestine refugees to provide essential copywriting skills and digital ads support during our busy end-of-year (EOY) campaign season.
description of duties + responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropy and in consultation with the Development and Communications departments, the consultant will:
digital fundraising communications + marketing
Write powerful fundraising copy:
For multi-channel campaigns, including direct mailers, fundraising sites, email appeals, social media, and digital ads.
For donor-centric content, such as thank-you letters, storytelling content, impact reports, donor newsletters, and website copy, that conveys gratitude and the value of their contributions, and
For donation pages, landing pages, and other web content that drives online engagement and contributions.
Support the execution of the organization’s end-of-year (EOY) fundraising campaign targeting individual donors; specific tasks include:
Researching, drafting, writing, and designing compelling bi-weekly email blasts for EOY fundraising; take the lead on designing new templates if/when necessary.
Drafting and designing fundraising-related content for UNRWA USA’s website and Classy fundraising campaigns.
Drafting and editing donor-related content and stories for UNRWA USA’s Voices of UNRWA blog in consultation with the Communications Manager.
Collaborate with the Development and Communications teams to align copy with fundraising goals, campaign strategy, and organizational objectives.
Use experience with digital fundraising tools, email marketing platforms (e.g., Pardot/Account Engagement, Salesforce), and content management systems to inspire philanthropic giving.
Organize and create content for EOY paid ads and social media, including but not limited to messaging, videos, graphics, and images.
Work with an outside agency to manage and analyze digital ads (social media and Google ads).
Test and refine copy based on key performance indicators.

You have a working knowledge of UNRWA and issues facing Palestine refugees.
You have 3+ years experience working in digital communications and nonprofit fundraising.
You’re a strong self-starter who works on your initiative without having to be micromanaged or instructed on what to do next.
You have a reputation for excellence and your attention to detail is impeccable.
Your written communication and editing skills are next level.
You have a familiarity with donor behavior and motivations.
You have familiarity with the Middle East, UNRWA, and the plight of the Palestine refugees.
You’re creative and passionate about producing inspiring, engaging content that reflects UNRWA USA's core values.
You have solid knowledge of and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Pardot/Account Engagement, Classy, and Canva (for graphic design).
conditions of service and expected compensation
The duration of the consultancy is starting mid to late November 2024 until mid-February 2025 and will be considered extendable if determined necessary by UNRWA USA.
The consultant will work remotely but is expected to be available and on-call between 9 am and 5 pm Eastern time, Monday through Friday. Compensation will be no lower than a daily rate of $300.
